Religious Education Inspection
As many of you will already have been told by your children, our school is to be inspected next week on Thursday 24th January by Mrs J Duffin of the Salford Diocese. This follows our recent successful Ofsted inspection in November and we’re all looking forward to the day.
Children’s Liturgy Dates for the Spring Term
During the 10am Sunday Mass, the young children are invited to come into the parish room for their own Liturgy of the Word, so that they can hear the message of the Gospel in a way appropriate for their age. The Dates for your diary are:
27th January
3rd February
17th February – 2nd Sunday of Lent
2nd March – 4th Sunday of Lent
16th March – Palm Sunday
Activemark Results - Congratulations!
We have achieved the ‘Activemark’ again this year. Well done Mrs Ogden, staff and children, it is a tremendous achievement and we know how you love your sport. A big thank you to Mrs F Monaghan for her active help too! Well done to all.
Road Safety
‘Stan the Lollipop Man’ will be performing for the Foundation Stage on Wednesday 23rd Jan at 10.30am.
Eid Celebrations
Foundation Stage had a delightful morning on Thursday celebrating Eid at Ferney Lee School, in spite of the torrential rain! Children were ferried up by car to avoid the downpour.
School’s Garden Birdwatch '08 (28thJan – 1st Feb)
Starting during the week 28th January our school garden birdwatch will begin with children having a chance to identify the birds in the School Grounds and make a hide to help them keep out of sight while they’re watching. So keep your eyes open!
Todmorden Touchwood
We are very pleased to have Graham Higgins, an illustrator, working with years 3/4 on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd January with year 5/6. Craig Bradley, poet, will also be in school working with older pupils on Wednesday 23rd. They will be creating their very own unique illustrations which will be published on the Touchwood Website with the creative stories already on the web.
