Safety Talk

A construction firm are in the area doing some work on a disused Mill. They will be speaking to the children about the Health and Safety issues that could be the result of trespassing. The talk is on Monday at 10.00am and you are welcome to attend.

 

Children’s Absence
If your child is unable to attend school, for example due to illness or appointments, etc, could you please contact us to let us know. If your child is absent and we have not had a message we will be ringing to check that s/he is safe as you cannot be too careful these days.

 

Governors Meeting

The Finance Committee meet on Tuesday 29th April at 5.00pm in the Parish Room.

 

Chronicles of Narnia

Our visit to the Hippodrome to celebrate their 100th Anniversary is next Wednesday 23rd. We will be leaving at 9.00am from school - so make sure you are on time! Please send your £1 in ASAP and thank you to those who have paid already.

 

PTA Spring Fair

Thank you to all those people who have sent in Bags2school or have donated a tin or bottle for the bottle stall for the Spring Fair. It was a fantastic response and will make sure that the Spring Fair is a great success on Sunday 11th May. This week we are collecting for the Chocolate Stall and any donations would be welcome.

 

Non Uniform Day

On Friday 25th April, children can attend school not wearing their school uniform! However for this privilege they must bring in a contribution of chocolate for the Spring Fair. Please be generous as the money goes to a very good cause – yes the children!

 

Governor’s Conference

The Calderdale Governor Conference is held annually and provides opportunities for governors to meet and network with governors in other schools. Speakers of national repute are invited to speak on current governor related issues. 'Everyone different - everyone matters' will take place on Saturday, 26 April 2008 at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield.  The focus for the conference will be personalisation and Making Good Progress MGP. As MGP is one of our priorities in the school improvement Plan I will be attending again this year. 

Lunchtime Awards

Last week’s were awarded to: Foundation – Gabriel Bath, Alyssa Bradley, Year 1 – Harry Ashworth, Year 2 – Darcey Blamire, Year 3 – Emily Gregson, Year 4 – Samantha Crowley , Year 5 – Liam Ashworth, Year 6 – Alexander Werth. Well done!
