PTA

Children moving from home to the wider world of a school community need to feel secure in the knowledge that teachers respect and care for them and have high expectations for them to make good progress. Your child’s achievements will also be influenced by the knowledge that you will take an active interest in their education and will offer support and guidance.

A number of parents are involved in helping in school with school visits and school based activities e.g. literacy hour, numeracy, craft, school magazine, football etc. New volunteers are always welcome!

Please let any of the teaching staff know if you are prepared to help in school. Helpers are most welcome to come to the staff room for tea and coffee breaks.

As a school, St Joseph's would like all its parents to be closely involved in the education of their child. To this aim, the school has a Parent Teacher

Association (PTA) to which all parents automatically belong. The P.T.A. organises between six and ten events per year, some of which are fund raising and others that are social events for everyone to enjoy themselves.

In addition, parents are invited into school on a number of occasions throughout the year to share in their children's work and celebration. All parents have a standing invitation to attend school assemblies, if they wish to do so.
