This morning, we were delighted to welcome our new families and children to our EYFS Stay & Play session! It was lovely to see everyone exploring the classroom, meeting the staff, and getting to know one another.
The children enjoyed joining in with activities such as building, painting, and playing in the different areas, while parents and carers had the chance to see what life in EYFS is all about.
We had a wonderful morning full of smiles, laughter, and excitement — a great start to their journey with us! π
If you would like to learn more about our upcoming Stay & Play or other Open Sessions, we would love to hear from you! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to find out dates, times, and any other information you need — we would be delighted to welcome you and your child to our school.
A huge well done to our Key Stage Two pupils who took part in the recent Cross Country event! π
The children represented our school brilliantly, showing fantastic determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the races. Everyone gave their best effort — cheering one another on, pacing themselves, and finishing with big smiles (and a few muddy shoes!).
We are so proud of the enthusiasm and positive attitude shown by all our runners. It was wonderful to see their hard work in PE lessons pay off and their confidence shine on the day.
Congratulations to everyone who took part — you did our school proud! π₯π

We are delighted to share that St Joseph’s RC Academy recently hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised an incredible £220 for this fantastic cause!
Students, staff, and families came together to enjoy delicious cakes, hot drinks, and lots of fun activities, all while supporting Macmillan Cancer Support. It was wonderful to see the whole school community getting involved and making a real difference.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, or joined in — your support helps Macmillan continue their vital work supporting people affected by cancer.
We are so proud of our school community for coming together to support such an important cause.
At St Joseph’s RC Academy, we are proud to take part in the WOW (Walk Once a Week) Walk to School initiative, encouraging our students and families to choose walking as a fun, healthy, and environmentally-friendly way to start the day.
Walking to school isn’t just about getting from home to school — it’s about building healthy habits, enjoying the fresh air, and making a positive impact on our community. Every step counts, and WOW gives our pupils the chance to take responsibility for their wellbeing while having fun.
Each week, students are encouraged to walk to school at least once. They can walk alone, with friends, or with their families. To make it even more exciting, pupils who take part earn stickers, badges, and certificates, helping them track their progress and celebrate their achievements.
Healthier bodies and minds: Walking boosts energy and focus for the school day ahead.
Friendships along the way: Walking together gives students a chance to chat and connect before classes start.
Cleaner air: Fewer car journeys help reduce pollution around our school.
A sense of community: Children, parents, and staff all contribute to making our school environment safer and more welcoming.
We love seeing our students in action! Check out our gallery of WOW walkers and see the smiles that come from starting the day on foot.
At St Joseph’s RC Academy, we are stepping into a healthier, happier future — one walk at a time!
