🥪 School Lunches
🍽️ School Meals at St Joseph’s RC Academy
At St Joseph’s RC Academy, we know that a nutritious and balanced lunch helps children stay focused, happy and full of energy throughout the school day.
Our school meals are freshly prepared and offer children a choice of delicious and healthy meals each day.
Daily School Meals
- Cost: £2.20 per meal
- How to choose: Children choose their meal when they arrive at school each day.
- How to book/pay: Parents can manage school meals and payments through the Arbor App.
We encourage families to use the Arbor App to keep their child's meal arrangements and account up to date.
🥗 Free School Meals
Some children may be entitled to benefits-related Free School Meals. If you think your child may be eligible, please make sure you apply.
Free School Meals must be applied for each academic year. Even if your child has previously received Free School Meals, you will need to complete a new application each year to confirm their eligibility.
🌟 Universal Free School Meals
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal, meaning you do not need to pay the £2.20 cost of their school lunch.
However, we strongly encourage all parents to apply for Free School Meals if they think they may be eligible, even if their child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and currently receives their lunch free of charge.
This is because registering for benefits-related Free School Meals can help the school access additional funding and support for your child.
📝 How to Apply
If you think your child may be entitled to Free School Meals, please complete an application through Calderdale Council.
Remember:
- Free School Meals eligibility needs to be confirmed each academic year.
- If your child previously received Free School Meals, please apply again for the new academic year.
- Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive Universal Free School Meals, but we still encourage eligible families to apply.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application.
