🌿Elm
Welcome to Elm class
Year 3 and 4
Mr Sutcliffe, Mrs Longden and Miss Begum

Interactive Viking Workshop
Pupils in Elm class took part in an exciting interactive workshop with creative artist Jeffrey Andrews, exploring Viking civilisation. The children examined Viking artefacts and participated in an archaeological dig, using their learning to uncover clues about life in Viking times.
They then applied what they had discovered to design and create their own Viking brooches or necklaces, combining history with creativity. The pupils were highly engaged throughout and thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on learning experience.
Parliament week
This week was parliament week in the UK and Mrs Carlile, who has visited the houses of Parliament for training on this, delivered a lesson. The children learnt all about what government is, how it is run and the decisions that they make.

Anti Bullying week
Today was the national event for anti-bullying. We took part in a live lesson run by the BBC with celebrity presenters. We learnt about what bullying is and how to report it.

A great class trip
Elm class went on a class trip to Finsley Gate Wharf in Burnley this week.
We learnt all about the Leeds and Liverpool canal and how it was built. We took part in finding out about the lives of the people, building canals and some of the jobs at the wharf. Some of us dressed as navvies and engineers.
The class really enjoyed their day and represented St Joseph's with their excellent behaviour.
