At St Joseph’s, we are proud to offer our pupils the opportunity to take part in our Forest School programme, where learning comes to life in the great outdoors.
Forest School provides children with regular opportunities to explore, discover and learn in a natural environment. Through a wide range of hands-on activities, pupils develop important life skills such as resilience, teamwork, problem solving and independence, while building a strong connection with nature.
From identifying seasonal changes and learning about wildlife, to building fires, cooking outdoors and using tools safely, each session encourages children to challenge themselves and try new experiences in a supportive environment. Pupils are encouraged to take risks safely, work collaboratively and develop confidence in their own abilities.
Forest School also supports learning across the curriculum, bringing topics such as science, environmental awareness and life cycles to life through real-world experiences. It is wonderful to see pupils developing curiosity, creativity and a genuine love of the outdoors.
Our Forest School sessions are a much-loved part of school life, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and determination our pupils show each week.
