Summer 1

Class assembly

Thank you for joining us for our class assembly on Shakespeare.

All the children from Oak enjoyed sharing information about his life and works, performing speeches from his plays, acting out a scene, and performing one of his most famous sonnets.

Class Novel

Our class novel is Oh Maya Gods by Maz Evans.

Voices for Equality (Year 6)

At the start of the Summer term, Year 6 took part in a programme called Voices for Equality. Over two days, the children learnt about the inspiring life and work of Anne Frank through readings and video extracts from her diary.

The children also explored contemporary and historical forms of prejudice and discrimination. They reflected on the dangers if these views are left unchallenged.

The children have now planned an assembly and workshops to share their learning with the rest of the school.

Following the programme, we are very pleased to share that we now have a Year 6 student as an Anne Frank Ambassador. The role of an Anne Frank Ambassador is to work towards a world free from prejudice, inspired by the life and work of Anne Frank.
